Breathing

Momentary Contentment

Do I know that I’m breathing? Sometimes I forget
That I’m doing so, then my body makes me yawn.
It’s a channeling. My inner being lets me
Know that I should slow down. Breathing happens to be
My wholistic addiction. I depend upon
All the breathing that’s not even happening yet.

The whole point of my breathing is to get into
Alignment with who I am. No special technique
Do I follow. I simply breathe in then breathe out.
Focus on respiration remains all about
Raising one’s vibration. Nothing else do I seek
Than a much better feeling and clear point of view.

The cork under water is being held there by
Some resistance. The cork’s natural tendency
Is to rise to the surface. If I can let go
Of what’s holding me under, I will get to know
Utter peace and contentment. I want to be free
Of resistance. My breathing no one can deny.

I breath all the time. There’s not a single moment
That I’m not breathing, and I’ve the ability
To focus on my breathing. My breath is my friend.
If I treat it that way it helps me to ascend
To the pinnacle of spirituality.
It requires not anyone else’s involvement.

Daily Practice

Taking Life In

It’s all about my newfound determination
To focus with the intent of generating
Good feelings no matter where I happen to be.
Through the Art of Allowing, I’m perfectly free
To inhale life because it’s invigorating.
I feel as if I’m the center of creation.

For about twenty minutes or so every day,
With the intent of filling your body with air,
Just breathe in and out… in and out. Appreciate
The delicious oxygen. You don’t have to wait
To partake of the freshness. Become most aware
Of how quickly the stress begins to wash away.

It’s the most natural thing in the world to do.
When you’re moving your body, you are doing it
Automatically, but you can consciously
Allow in the abundance. Your focus is key
In taking and releasing to your benefit.
You are worthy and loved simply for being you.

So much is ready to come into fruition.
Just breathe it into being. Breathe in happiness.
Fill your lungs and let it infiltrate every part
Of your being. Right now is a good time to start
Taking in all the goodness and releasing stress.
Breathing life is only about your volition.

Voluntary And Involuntary Actions

Spiritual Brain Function

There’s a difference between involuntary
Actions and those that aren’t. It’s been so decided
That there are things that are done beyond our control
And things that we decide to do. What makes this whole
Thing a problem is that it’s somewhat misguided.
The thin line between the two is arbitrary.

If I decide to move my hand, do I decide
To decide or just do it? And if I don’t know
If I do or not, then is it voluntary?
I can control my breathing, but unconsciously
It keeps on without my knowing. How it does so
I know not. How can this fallacy be applied?

Arbitrary then too is our definition
Of the self. It includes not only the body
But the planets in orbit and all that exists.
The illusion of our separateness persists
Only because as a collective we agree
That it’s the best way toward our evolution.

You body knows that you’re one with the universe.
A strange thing happens when you become more aware
That your blood circulating is the same process
As star systems evolving. There is nothing less
Than magnificent unity that we all share.
We must now convince ourselves that it’s not a curse.

Control The Mind?

Manage The Mental Machine

Is it possible for you to control your mind?
It can’t be done directly. It’s not natural.
The mind focuses on things. That’s how it’s designed.
Even when it’s not focused it will try to find
Something to occupy it. Forever it shall,
Like an engine, be fact of the matter inclined.

Suppose you watch a movie that you like a lot.
Your focus is then amplified because you’re glued
To the screen for a long while. Because you like it
Your mind will stay engaged. You will not want to quit
What you’re doing. You are in a positive mood,
And that brings with it focus much more so than not.

Other kinds of emotions will do the same thing.
It’s as if the brain takes all its cues from the heart.
Greed and fear bring focus with them as does passion
Of the kind that’s expressed as love or aggression.
Whatever the mind does, the heart plays a big part.
The perception of consciousness is unending.

Breathing helps the mind focus in a certain way
That is deeply relaxing. You can concentrate
On a sound or a mantra. There is a cleansing
That the practice of intended breathing will bring
To the mind. It can put you in a righteous state
Of alignment. There isn’t a huge price to pay.

Making Tough Decisions

Difficult Choices

A few decades ago scientists came to know
Of a cluster of specialized cells in the heart
Configured so they create a neural network.
It turns out that this brain in the heart is a perk
For our being on earth, and it plays a big part
In how we make decisions as the data show.

This brain thinks independently and is apart
From the brain in the cranium. It also feels
And remembers, so that every experience
Is recorded in two places in present tense.
There’s intelligence to what the heat brain reveals
To the big brain that may think that it’s pretty smart.

If I try to heal trauma by only thinking
About it in my mind without dropping below
To the little heart brain, it will feel incomplete.
Of our earthly existence the heart is the seat.
Only through it is my spirit able to grow.
The heart brain and the big brain are worth my linking.

Touch Your Heart. Your awareness will always go to
The place where you feel the touch. Slow down your breathing.
“You are safe,” is what your body is telling you,
Or “You’re not.”  In that case, you know just what to do.
The decision you make then is satisfying.
Get in touch with the much wiser version of you.

Breathing

The Ultimate Cure

Do I know that I’m breathing? Sometimes I forget
In the everyday business I put myself through.
So I’m given a hiccup, a belch, or a yawn
By the forces of nature which I depend on
Because I can’t remember some things I must do.
Have I come to know air as a vital asset?

I can use it to focus on since I’ve learned how.
Things I need to distract myself from are many.
Thoughts that carry resistance, by breath I release
To God’s infinite knowing. I find inner peace
Through a technique of breathing that’s just right for me.
It’s the best way I know to relax and allow.

The flow inward and outward of life giving air
Parallels with digestion. All cyclic function
Makes a pump of the body in integral ways.
If all systems are synchronized the body stays
Easily and rightly in its best condition.
Breathing is something that should be given some care.

Make your conscious attention to your breath your friend.
It will lower your blood pressure and calm your nerves.
Clarity and new insights will replace all doubt.
Any moment you have cannot be one without
The continuing cycle that all life deserves.
It’s the best advice anyone could recommend.

Voluntary And Involuntary Actions?

The Mind/Cosmos Connection

I decided to move my hand, but I did not.
Are these acts voluntary… to move or decide?
If we don’t decide to decide but just do it
Then how do we ‘just do it?’ I humbly submit
That our knowledge of such things leaves some things denied
That if were allowed would clear things up quite a lot.

I can feel myself breathing deliberately.
Full control I have of it, but when I let go
Of my focus upon it, it will continue.
Is this voluntary? Or does it have to do
With subconscious processes? Can anyone know
The nature of volition most absolutely?

What we do and what happens to us we believe
Are two separate entities. This is not so.
Everything is but one thing. All acts that occur
Interlink through a matrix. We are, as it were,
On our own, yet together is how we must grow.
The fabric of our lives is a delicate weave.

Just as waves are continuous with the ocean,
The body is the same with the whole universe.
It’s you who circulates you blood, but that’s not all.
Your are shining the sun, and you cause rain to fall.
All motion is accounted for. It could be worse,
But it’s not, and it’s all due to laws of motion.

You’re Not Earning, You’re Attracting

With Every Waking Breath

You get up in the morning then go rush outside
To breathe in all the air that you’ll need for the day.
Others will suck it all up if you hesitate.
It would be a disaster if you had to wait
Until air is replenished. To live in this way
Is absurd, most atrocious, and undignified.

Paranoia is normal in times of distress
Where the most basic needs may be subject to threat.
But reality dictates that all is quite well.
In the mind of the not aligned much fear does dwell.
When you think about money and feel some regret
You grow into the circumstance of having less.

It’s your aspect of beingness that you engage
Much more than tons of hard work to make yourself feel
Justified in the having of a salary.
You don’t feel that you’re quite worthy enough to be
In reception of good things without the ordeal
Of the quid pro quo contract for a decent wage.

With ten dollars you can do so many good things.
As you embrace that feeling you appreciate
Everything that you do have. Then you will have more.
Look for reasons to feel good, and learn to explore
All the things that excite you. What you then create
Is a life of abundance and many blessings.

Keep Breathing

Go On No Matter What

People say, “Just Keep Breathing; all will turn out fine…”
As if life is a breath test. It drives me insane.

I don’t mean to be cranky… or maybe I do.
I’m awash in confusion. Should my face turn blue
Due to misunderstanding, I’ve nothing to gain.
Crisis times trigger breathing by nature’s design.

That first breath was a doozy. It blew me away
From the one who contained me, for better or worse.
Why should I keep on breathing? It gets rather old.
I can breathe my damned lungs numb. Nothing will unfold
But a room full of hot air. Is my life a curse?
Or do those who can breathe well have something to say?

I take my breath for granted, as many folks do
In the mainstream of living and keeping ends tied
But it’s the only answer to staying alive.
We can never stop breathing. It’s how we survive.
Once the technique is learned, wellness can’t be denied.
Then I’m able to handle what I’m going through.

I can curse like a sailor because I was one.
I’ve screwed up rather royally for one lost soul.
I’ll breathe that along with the fresh air I’m allowed.
Things I’ve done in the past can never make me proud.
I’m alive to the point where I still can be whole.
The decision to breathe is a new life begun.

It Is All Happening Now

Eternal Beingness

Something feels great big gobs of relief in knowing
That the only occurrence is spontaneous.
Things just happen as they should or shouldn’t without
Consciousness being present. And yet there’s no doubt
Things continue to function as many discuss
Ways that they can control them because that’s their thing.

Some things get in the way of my thinking clearly.
Knowing full well that that is an oxymoron,
Still I try to break through the illusion of me.
Thoughts and feelings are much of what I seem to be.
Cloudiness leads to conclusions falsely foregone.
Reset I must my consciousness to better see.

Everything is a “happening.” This is groovy!
Time warps are but ideas, but breathing is real
Just as retinal rods and cones processing light.
Fortunately no one trusts me to get that right.
In respectful observance I touch the ideal.
Knowing there’s no observer I’m there completely.

So, there’s no self to speak of. It’s all happening.
All of now is eternal and is everywhere.
Breathing in and out happens as wind moves the clouds
Whether fate shows its favor to protesting crowds.
Nothing is more important than being aware
That distinction exists not. I am everything.

Just Attend To Your Breathing

The Life Affirming Function

A delightful companion is always a plus
In the fine art of ‘breath watching,’ as it is called.
It’s a mechanism of the body, we know.
When we pay more attention to it, we will grow
Both in health and in spirit. We can be enthralled
By this motion magnificent for life and thus.

It is the most practiced form of meditation.
It’s so basic and simple while easy to do
Since we do it most constantly yet not aware
Of this God given process. We give much more care
To our outward appearance, but any guru
Would advise more attention to breathing be done.

A sharpness or a keenness begins to ensue
As perfect becomes practice within a time short.
It’s a process amazing most naturally.
One can only get more conscious and completely
Needless of preparation or others’ support.
An increase in awareness will surely accrue.

The perpetual play of my breath, as I see,
The maker of my body holds with a kind hand.
The taker of my being, the same creator
Whose hand I firmly hold until there is no more,
Has no wish to escape. My most vital demand
Is ongoing fulfillment of wanting to be.

Not The Body; Not The Mind

Detatchment From the Notion of Self

The breath does not mean air. This must be understood.
Can I speak from the point of my experience
In a flesh and blood body equipped with a brain?
What now binds me to both simply can’t be more plain.
My own breath holds my frail life in utter suspense.
Yogic practices surely can do me some good.

Whatever I am suffering is of the mind
Or else, it’s of the body. There’s no other place
I will find maladjustment. I am neither one.
Once I get this completely, true growth has begun.
I can breathe my own living in well-deserved grace.
Can I master alignment? Am I so refined?

It’s a living experience just to observe
What takes place all around me. My thoughts are not real.
Never mind that I think them. They change with the air
And to think that I breathe them could cause me despair.
Breathing is connected to the way that I feel.
Need I learn some techniques? Can I get up the nerve?

I am not the body, nor am I the vast mind.
That which binds me to both is each breath that I take.
My thoughts are not dependable… useful, perhaps
But they tend to play life like a cheap came of craps.
It is truth that I’m after. And for my own sake
The process of my breathing I’ll see as more kind.

Watch The Miracle Happen

TheMagicRealist.com

It’s a miracle that I have made it this far
In a world of much color and lots of fresh air.
And the sound of my breath can put me in a trance.
I don’t think that I’m random and placed here by chance.
As I focus my breathing, nothing can compare
To the peaceful state I will reach. I’m up to par

When it comes to escaping… I will do my best
With so simple a process of power supreme.
God grows me from the inside and works his way out
So it’s easy to find him, not having to shout.
Could the miracle be to live life as a dream?
That would be the whole point, as through him, we are blessed.

Miracles are a normal thing. They are not rare.
It is when they don’t happen that something is wrong.
I just need to make myself aware of such things
And the blessings that time out for deep breathing brings.
Afterwards I will feel that I truly belong.
One who lives by the miracle lives without care.
