Thankfulness. Which way do you think gets more results?
For some, praying is like going to the toilet.
It’s become a mere function that’s used just to get
Satisfaction. But what if your praying insults
That which hears it? You can’t expect a good outcome.

When you pray out of indignation and despair
It sets up a vibration that makes the problem
More severe. You give it more of your attention.
In your praying you’re better off not to mention
Any issues because God knows all about them.
When you speak to divinity do so with care.

Santa Claus was a big thing when you were yet small.
Since then you’ve come to know that it all was a lie
But you still pray as if God comes down the chimney
Once a year with the answers you seek earnestly.
You may pray your behind off yet ask yourself why
God has not taken time to respond to your call.

When you pray from a place of appreciation
You put yourself in a better state to receive
Maybe not what you’re asking for this time around
But relief from your misery will have been found.
A state of alignment isn’t hard to achieve
As you find the object of your adoration.

It’s not that big a crisis but still your distressed.
Bordering on psychosis you think way too much
About things that you cannot resolve right away.
It feels like your whole life’s in total disarray.
At the moment you seem to be far out of touch
With your true self which now is severely suppressed.

You’re not out of touch nor are you disconnected
From your true self because it’s the main part of you.
Temporary is your circumstance. Be aware
Of the logic that can lead you out of despair
And right into a situation that is new.
Negative emotion should not be expected.

If a spark from the fireplace lands on your sweater
And you brush it off quickly not much harm is done
But if you say, “My goodness!”, by that time you will
Be on fire. By the same token you can’t sit still
With a problem that seems to have no solution.
You can always find a way of feeling better.

You can render inactive your disappointment
With yourself for whatever by remembering
That your true self has a different opinion
Than you do about most things. You can be someone
Who can be happy no matter what’s happening.
Any state you can reach through your conscious intent.

Moving On From The Past

Staring At Time

When you feel chronic strong negative emotion
About something you’re nurturing a flawed premise –
And untruth – a big lie. Your inner being knows
All about you. Nothing is left in the shadows
And it loves you. Now what could be better than this?
Worthiness is a self-reassuring notion.

If you’re not happy with yourself for not being
Able to connect with yourself, your awareness
Of the feeling of emptiness keeps you apart
From all that you hold sacred and dear to your heart.
If it’s the past that’s causing you all the distress
Then you need a much different way of seeing.

Moving On From The Past means you’re moving toward
Something better – not away from something that’s bad.
Your awareness of what is keeps you in a place
Where you’re ornery and have a frown on your face
Constantly and no one wants to be your comrade.
The cost to your consciousness you cannot afford.

If it feels horrible to go there, Let It Go!
If it’s messing with your now and what’s coming next
Then you have to decide which is better for you.
Shift your focus to something positive and new.
Let the past go and give it its proper respects.
The releasing of baggage will help you to grow.
