How Do We Love One Another?

Love Is Survival

How do we as full grown adults, getting along
As we do, exude love as if we were children?
It would seem that they’re our teachers in this regard.
As we deal with life’s contrast we can be too hard
On ourselves and with others. Every now and then,
We encounter those whose love is steady and strong.

They are in every way like rivers as they stream.
As they exude love naturally people know
That they’re true to their nature. They live not a lie
In how they affect others. They don’t have to try
To love freely. Perhaps they are sent here to show
To the world what true love is. It’s not a fake dream.

They may give away things at the drop of a hat
Just because others need them, but nature abhors
Any vacuum it senses. They only get more
Of what they give away. They are loath to ignore
Anyone who is in need. They see not as chores
Acts of kindness. This sick world needs people like that.

We cannot imitate this thing. There is no way
To receive it, but it is also essential
That we have it if we are to live peacefully.
Does it come by divine grace to us directly?
With all of our shortcomings there is potential
For survival, and life can be a cabaret.

The Network Of Consciousness

Human consciousness is at the same time aware,
Understanding, and sensitive, yet ignorant.
The most ordinary everyday consciousness
Leaves out more than it takes in, and in the process,
It discards much importance. The mind simply can’t
Take in all that there is. Such a gift would be rare.

If we could extend our awareness to include
Those things that we leave out, then a deep inner peace
We would know, which is something that we should not know
According to the rules of society. So
To get the lowdown on life it’s best to release
Everyday understanding which is a bit crude.

A fabric interwoven so as to reflect
On front and back each other’s opposite pattern
Is the same as all life is. The bad and the good
Comingle in a network that is understood
To be the way it is, but it’s of great concern
How extremes in a troubled world interconnect.

Our sense organs are receptive and selective.
They pick out from a tiny band of frequencies
What we know to be real to us, and as we grow,
Newer instruments invented will help us know
More of the universe’s possibilities.
There’s still much to be explored from our perspective.

The Cosmic Collective

Human consciousness is at the same time aware
And is sensitive to its own understanding,
But it also is ignorant of many things.
If we know what we shouldn’t then this knowledge brings
On a much deeper knowing about everything.
Yet our everyday consciousness can’t take us there.

Our sense organs are selective. They will pick out
Certain things they’re receptive to but that is all.
The electromagnetic spectrum is so wide
And within a small segment is where we reside.
Our perception of everything is fairly small.
We take in very little and tolerate doubt.

Consciousness leaves out more than it cares to take in.
That’s the way things are set up in this here and now.
Yet because of this what it’s programmed to ignore
Would be helpful in quelling our horrors and more.
Is there some way on this earth that life may allow
Us to be more enlightened? Where would we begin?

Though it is wise and natural that we’re this way
We gain some understanding through what we access
Through our forms of technology and practices
Of the nature of spirit, and what this all says
Is that we are given the choice to acquiesce
To the grace and the power of forces at play.

How Do We Love One Another?

It All Begins With Self

Is the nature of love that which can be explained
By a few lines of verbal mechanical parts?
If I gave it a good try I would not succeed.
Any effort applied to it would but impede
Understanding the spectrum that patterns our hearts
Yet by asking the question some insight is gained.

There arise among human beings people who
Just exude love as naturally as the sun
Gives out heat. And like rivers, they constantly stream.
Generosity is their most dominant theme.
Giving things away to others… when this is done
It comes back multiplied. Many know this is true.

Nature abhors a vacuum. That’s why there is flow
And abundance of all that can fill any void.
How does one become loving? If by divine grace
It would mean that but some get it. That’s not the case
Otherwise life on this earth could not be enjoyed
Period. We’d be stuck without room left to grow.

So, there must be some way of us getting this grace
That’s disbursed by divinity and channeled through
Many billions of people throughout all the earth.
It begins with oneself through decisive rebirth.
Openness to the stream is the way that is true.
It’s the only way that we’ll survive as a race.
