Elegant Joy

I love being alive. I love knowing the laws
Of the universe. I love going with the flow.
I love knowing how this all works. I love knowing
What I know and I love knowing where I’m going.
Bless my soul for this opportunity to grow.
I’m no longer so plagued by the way that I was.

I love knowing that I have an inner being
Who’s looking at everything and feeling delight
About all that takes place. Evil it doesn’t see.
This being who is the eternal part of me
Sees my life and my future as sunny and bright.
I endeavor to see the way it is seeing.

I love knowing that sometimes I’ll get out of whack
And it’s not such an issue because I can get
Back in harmony with my internal rampage.
The wellbeing is dominant. So why engage
With the thinking that I know that I will regret?
It takes just some fine tuning to get back on track.

I want everyone to be joyful. I want there
To be cooperation among humankind.
I know that it’s not my responsibility
To help others discover their reason to be.
Everyone deserves wellbeing and peace of mind.
I love that by my choice I become more aware.

Is It Real?

There’s no end to the momentum of connection.
Does it matter at what point you’ve entered into
An agreement with destiny? Your happiness
Is exploding. It’s something you want to express
To the universe. Your cherished dream has come true.
There’s nothing in your heart but love and affection.

It makes you feel invincible. You’ll find a way
To get through difficulties with relative ease.
You have the sudden courage to do things that you
Thought for some reason you were not able to do.
Your focus now is all about wanting to please
The object of your feelings all day every day.

A better version of yourself you have become.
You’re eternally grateful, more loving, and kind.
Things you used to fear you do not fear anymore,
Much unlike the uneasiness you felt before.
Since you’ve fallen in love you’re more able to find
Peace of mind. You know now where such blessings come from.

A hopeful romantic love will make out of you.
It gives you the hope that things will always work out
For the better. It opens the door to a new
Way to see life, and it is the ultimate view
One can have. It’s the best feeling beyond all doubt.
All the trouble to get there is worth going through.

The Sameness Of Change

Someone came to a new village relocating.
He was wondering if indeed he’d like it there.
So he went to a Zen master and asked him how
People were in that town, thinking this would allow
His decision to come easily and with care.
This issue he was actively contemplating.

“What are people like in the town where you come from?”
Asked the Zen master, and the newcomer replied,
“They are nasty and greedy. They lie, cheat, and steal.
Having to be among them is such an ordeal.”
“That’s exactly the kind of people who reside
In this town,” said the master. “They simply are scum.”

The next day another person came into town
With the same motive and question, so he went to
The same Zen master. “What are the people like where
You come from?” asked the master. “They have loving care
For each other. They’re seekers of all that is true.
I have never seen one put another one down.”

“That’s exactly the kind of people we have here.”
Said the master. But how can the same people be
Different in behavior? That’s not really so.
You will take yourself with you wherever you go.
How you feel about this world is what you will see
Everywhere, so the message is perfectly clear.

Go All The Way

Paradise On The Way To Heaven

If you’re going to try, then do Go All The Way.
Otherwise, do not start the path laid before you.
It could mean losing girlfriends, wives, and relatives,
Or your means of support which most rarely forgives.
You may lose your clear mind and be left without clue,
And the more that is lost, the more hell there’s to pay.

Can you Go All The Way knowing all is unknown?
With each step of the journey is uncertainty,
It could mean your not eating for three or four days,
Freezing on city park benches, prone in such ways
That attract sharp derision and harsh mockery.
It may challenge your spirit and hurt to the bone.

It could mean doing jail time and isolation.
Aloneness is the gift. All others are a test
Of how much you can take. Do you want to do it?
You know well what the answer is. You cannot quit!
You will do what you must and be fettered and blessed
And despite the rejection, there’s work to be done.

Better than anything else you could imagine
It will be if indeed you are going to try.
Don’t be half assed about it. Do Go All The Way.
There’s no other feeling like a part in the play
Where you dance with the gods and flame up the night sky.
You will ride perfect laughter. New life will begin.
