The Art Of Allowing

...Versus the Science of Hoping

Simple signals made complex among consciousness
Introduce much resistance in what is perceived.
If I’m more aware of everything that I see
And less concerned about what others think of me
I will stay in allowing mode and be less peeved.
Other people’s perceptions are the cause of stress.

I have source flowing to me and through me always.
Everyone who has ever lived sees through my eyes
When I’m in full alignment with all who I am.
I can follow a self-designed worthy program
From the infinite consciousness of those made wise
By their now point of vantage. I offer much praise.

What I’m reaching for is that outside part of me.
There’s a whole lot of consciousness at my avail.
But if I’m tuning myself to their frequency
I become them in essence momentarily.
The convergence of clarity on a large scale
Is a thing worth my knowing if I am To Be.

I’ll allow myself to feel the fullness of who
I am truly. Conditions are best to discard.
They disrupt the vibration that I would achieve.
There’s no value in guessing what others believe.
When my vision gets cloudy, then life can get hard.
I’ve enough to feel worthy without much to do.

Shorten The Time

Rely On The Timeless

Happy Days were upon us. Some want their return
And will do anything to grasp tightly those roots.
Onward though does the dial move away from the past.
Fettered dreams of simplicity fade away fast
In the heated up present. Regretful pursuits
Are the game plans of many with little concern.

Some believe our democracy hangs by a thread
As perhaps it did always from its bloody start.
It is something to fight for. Just saying the word
At the start of our sports events is as absurd
As the sheer lack of justice that cuts to the heart
Of a once perceived order that now appears dead.

All the things that I’ve wanted this nation to be
Is a dream that I still have. The contrast is good
As it causes me to fill in much more detail.
I’d prefer it not be at the pace of a snail.
How do I cut the time frame, indeed if I could?
…By not focusing on things I don’t want to see.

I improve my ability to recognize
What it is that I’m wanting. It’s perceptual
In its humble beginning. Yet it picks up speed.
Focusing more there, I am essentially freed
To explore all the fruits of my best accrual.
One small change in my outlook is one worthy prize.

Are Other People Real?

The Plasticity Apparent

This question that I must ask of my consciousness,
Wide awake and with focus upon humankind,
May be moot to most others who would call insane
Anyone who would ask it. Within their disdain
Is the key to the answer. Relief may I find
In engaging my asking, but not to excess.

People never are as I perceive them to be.
Each of us wants to mold into specific shape
What we know through the senses. So, reality
Is just how I perceive it. And this I do see
As a fact most confounding. Is there an escape
From the pit of inscrutable uncertainty?

When connected to spirit, I see through the eyes
Of the source of all of us. The realer they are
They may rise to the image I see as their best.
They’re as real as I make them. This begs to suggest
That the eye that beholds others is just as far
From the truth, as imagined. My, what a surprise!

Chains of Pain are created through my observing
What I don’t care to look at, then adding to it
Some more doubt and confusion plus firm evidence
Of a flaw in the fabric of my existence.
The eye of the beholder sees what it sees fit
To be worthy and justified in its being.

Screw What Others Think!

Ignore The Useless Chatter

People’s mouths are their assholes too often it seems.
Body parts we all have, and they’re all much the same.
Certain parts of the psyche that do the most harm
Are also the very ones that are used to charm
The way through life as if it were just a fun game.
Differences among psyches span all extremes.

How does life get much better? Need I poll the crowd
And record all my findings, then make a report
To the obsessive compulsive self in some need
Of notice from outside itself? This can but lead
To a life loud and looney. I sell myself short
By the buying of likes. How can I then feel proud?

Prostitution made social, perception is clear
Of the ways human nature perceives and responds
To the slightest vibrations. Making others wrong…
Or myself is of no use. I’m where I belong.
It is natural, yet I must learn to form bonds
That retain their significance year after year.

All the ones who accept and support me are those
Who are of a like feather. They mirror the bird
Rising up from the ashes of foolish mistakes.
My opponents are, for me, a source of headaches.
I shall take no one’s temperature, as preferred,
But my own through a process I need not disclose.

Know Thyself

The Spiritual Mirror Image

Since childhood I’ve been learning and relearning things
That others get the first time and with greater ease.
I don’t find it a problem until I’m perceived
And am judged for the way I am. Then I am peeved.
But I’ve been a fine bastard with my psychoses
And this self-observation – my ego it stings.

It’s and ongoing process. Self-discovery
Grows from learning of this world and all of its ways.
But the self that is studied is of the body
And the thing that we know as personality
Yet the more subtle essence for most of us stays
In the depths of the psyche concealed completely.

I would study myself, but just what does that mean?
I must ask myself questions that puzzle me so.
Is myself the perceiver? Or am I that who
Perceives he who’s perceiving? If I follow through
With this interrogation, what truth could I know?
…Consciousness is recursive and clearly obscene?

The mind is a fifth limb. It will grasp and hold on
To the things it perceives. I know that it’s a tool.
It itself is perceived by that which is unnamed.
The true self is a mirror wherein all is framed
In its pureness of being. I’ll take that as cool.
It’s the source of all selfhood from which life is drawn.

Perceiving Without Labels

Appropriate Futility of Scrutiny

It’s so hard not to use labels with or without
Specific information about what’s inside.
Human egos have them, and they place them upon
Anything possible. We depend so much on
Our conceptual symbols. No way are they tied
To the essences naming them. Be there no doubt!

We can sense life in two ways. Personality
Is a relative tool of survival we use
To communicate everything stored in the mind.
But the other way is of a different kind.
There’s the space of light consciousness which, if we choose,
Can get us to perceiving things quite label free.

The practice of perception is done anywhere.
Most ideal is the environment of nature.
There, one can just observe things simply as they are.
Dropping into this beingness is as bizarre
As the person who senses it’s calming allure.
Getting in touch with one’s true self shouldn’t be rare.

Consciousness on two levels – the transcendent one
And the self with its biases – both we engage.
What plays out in the foreground is of the ego.
In the background, the true self can lovingly show
Its full brightness. The false self may then come of age
Through the coolest relationship ever begun.

Like a lampshade, the person I am gives the light
From my spirit eternal its formative hues.
The conditioned self is dense and heavy a load.
Knowing of my true light source I’m well on the road
To then loving my neighbor as my true self who’s
The same essence eternal which is just as bright.
