If The Big Bang Is True

The Big Bang is a theory. As science explains,
Everything came from nothing including the space
Between things. The expansion is still going on.
From this there are many conclusions to be drawn
All By Faith, however science cannot embrace
Such a notion. Its pseudo logic it maintains.

What exploded? Where did it come from? Why did it
Up and happen? There are many questions to ask
Of the scientist. Such questions are suited for
The spiritual seeker who maybe knows more
About what all the scientists cannot unmask.
But do not call them faithless. They would have a fit.

It’s just like a book is so much more than the ink
And the paper. It has lots of information.
More than just chemicals, a strand of DNA
Holds a library. We are much more than the way
Science sees us. It’s not that it can’t get things done.
It’s just that there’s resistance in how people think.

Some fourteen billion years ago something happened
That brought into existence matter, time, and space.
Did it happen all by itself? Or is there some
Divine consciousness that everything ushers from?
And can logic ever quantify divine grace?
Truth is something that anyone can comprehend.

Break The Cycle

The more things that are asked for the more you are called
By your inner self to move in the direction
Of your wishes. You also become more aware
Of things in the way that you don’t want to be there.
The resistance life offers is by selection.
When it is minimized you will be more enthralled.

You’re connected to your inner being always.
You feel much satisfaction when the link is strong.
When it’s weak, you feel hopeless. You are in control
Of the thoughts and emotions that can make you whole.
In that place of alignment is where you belong.
Sensitive you are to what your true self conveys.

You can stay off the subject that’s not letting you
Be receptive to inspiration and guidance.
Close the gap between your true self and your ego.
Break the evil spell that is not letting you grow.
You achieve your contentment not by happenstance.
Your dissatisfaction with life you can get through.

“Isn’t that a beautiful tree? And isn’t that
A beautiful bird? This meal is so delicious.
Isn’t this a nice day? Look at that butterfly!”
This winning attitude makes the spirit soar high.
Take notice of the things you’re willing to discuss.
It is okay to be okay with where you’re at.

Face The Facts

We’ve got all sorts of ideas built into us,
And our speech reflects communist phrases such as,
“Face the facts,” as if they were totally outside
Of ourselves and to be used as our only guide.
We encounter life as aliens, and this has
The effect of programming. This is obvious.

People speak of ‘awakening.’ What does it mean?
It’s a reexamination of common sense
Which has been rigged within us by society.
Learn to know that it ain’t so necessarily
Just because people’s belief is so damned immense.
No way other than what they’re used to can be seen.

The way to perceive life is not as foreigners.
We are not strangers to this world but part of it.
People used to believe that this round earth is flat
Until someone disproved any notion of that.
Questioning our core assumptions, we must admit
That as commonsense creatures we are amateurs.

We are continuous with the vast universe.
Unending is its momentum. The time will come
When we all will see things this way, but until then
Social structures will falter again and again.
Reflection is where our enlightenment comes from.
We evolve with our mindset for better or worse.

What Did I Forget?

By nature not forgetful, as one would prefer,
A clear minded existence – one rich and fulfilled
Is the daily experience. So on this day
I remember the thinking that gets in the way
Of my best understanding. Alive and self-willed,
I’ve control over everything that must occur.

I was told who I am and was given a name
To be used as a handle. I am a game piece
On the boardwalk of being, but is this all true?
I identify not with the essence I knew
As an infant arriving, but now I release
All the past acts committed that have caused me shame.

Letting go of the old thoughts makes room for the new.
Selves maintain the conspiracy that they create.
Self-imposed purgatory, psychotic and vile,
I can get rid of also. My spirit, meanwhile,
Never loses its memory yet still feels great.
There is limited time to do what I must do.

…And that is to remember what self has forgot.
Way deep down inside I’m the fabric and structure
Of existence itself. We are all undefined,
But the name that we give ourselves is humankind.
What indeed but self-knowledge can make life more pure?
All I need is the truth in whatever is sought.

Face The Facts

“Face The Facts,” people say out of sheer frustration
When someone doesn’t get something they clearly should.
Our facts are but ideas built into us all.
Obvious and unquestioned and both large and small,
We take them at full value. They are understood
To be rock solid in our own estimation.

To question the unquestioned is to awaken
To the knowledge most truthful to all humankind.
Common sense has been rigged by our society.
What’s assumed to factual actually
Is not fit for consumption by the human mind.
Many times aspirations have been forsaken.

People once believed earth was flat and were held back
By the fear of them falling off by accident
Until some brave soul set sail to prove otherwise.
Surely now it’s not seen as a shocking surprise
That God’s green earth is spherical. A small percent
Still believe in a flat earth. Common sense they lack.

What we know to be factual always changes.
With new information we become enlightened.
We are continuous with the whole universe.
As we evolve together nothing would be worse
Than to prevent our knowing because we’re frightened.
It’s unfortunate, as the mind it deranges.
