Fallen

Apparent Defeat

At some point on your journey you will trip and fall.
Things go south rather quickly and you’re caught off guard.
Tragedy, disappointment, and pain are what you
Know too well, and you don’t know what the hell to do
To recover your spirit. It’s pretty damned hard
To be happy when you’re the one who’s dropped the ball.

We all get hit on the blind side once in a while.
You can lose your job, home, car, or someone you love.
What will you do about it? It’s your decision.
You can choose to grow through the pain and envision
Your triumphant transcendence. It’s way far above
Any choice worth maintaining your spirit’s profile.

Some of the greatest things you will ever learn and
Some of the greatest changes in your life will be
Due to pain, so don’t knock it. It is a good thing
As it strengthens the spirit. You don’t have to cling
To the agony aspect necessarily.
Going through pain helps your consciousness to expand.

Sometimes in life it feels like you have to hit back
And do damage to what you think is keeping you
From achieving your goals, but it’s an illusion.
Having grown through your pain you’ll reach the conclusion
That your point of attraction can be trained anew.
There’s no trick to your getting your life back on track.

Gratitude

Giving Thanks

Sometimes in life we pass over the simple things
That surround us that are wonderful to behold.
We shift our focus to the things that chip away
At our spirits, yet we can be thankful each day
For the little things. Don’t let your life be controlled
By the world and its most chaotic happenings.

Once a woman was walking down a busy street
When she spotted a beggar with an empty bowl
And a cardboard sign that read, ‘Blind Please Help,’ so she
Took the sign, turned it over, and wrote caringly.
What she wrote must have come directly from her soul.
Having put change in the bowl her task was complete.

Pretty soon the old beggar heard lots of change fall
Into his bowl. He’d wondered what the woman wrote
On his sign. He asked someone to read it to him.
The delighted passerby was filled to the brim
With compassion and read the beggar’s humble note.
What was written there indeed was not something small.

‘Today is a beautiful day, and I am so
Happy you have the privilege to be able
To see it,’
wrote the woman. Your gratitude brings

True fulfillment and many wonderful blessings.
Gratitude need not always be demonstrable
To others. It’s one way that the spirit can grow.

The Secret To Success

Reliability

A young man who was a technician apprentice
At a factory was guided by an old man
Who had worked there for ages. “Talk less,” the man said,
“And do more. Dedication will put you ahead
Of the others in value.”
It seemed like a plan

That made sense. It was advice he couldn’t dismiss.

The old man retired after a number of years.
By then, the young apprentice was a technician.
He had followed the wise advice given to him,
But the man wasn’t happy. The future seemed dim.
He had not been promoted. The same position
He held from the beginning. That’s how it appears.

He went back to the old man and poured out his heart.
The old man, after thinking for quite a long while,
Suggested to the young man to take a recess
For a day. So he did. He returned to a mess
That occurred due to his absence. The boss said, “I’ll
Promote you to head technician because you’re smart.”

Every time the man felt not appreciated
He would take the day off, but soon, he was let go.
If a lightbulb goes out frequently, it’s replaced.
With the balance between work and pride we are faced.
Do your work, and the blessings will surely follow,
Take nothing for granted in what you’ve created.

This Race Called Life

All Life As One

Once upon a time there was a young fellow who
Was athletic. He had a hunger for success.
Seemingly it was all about winning for him.
He decided to run in a race on a whim.
Competition would bring him extreme happiness.
Accepting the challenge was the right thing to do.

People gathered to see the race. One wise old man
Who attended was quiet while all others cheered
As the boy came in first place, but the boy was proud.
All the cheers and excitement were blissfully loud,
But the old man was silent which was rather weird.
He did not appear to be an avid sports fan.

Another race was called sometime after the first.
Two young fit challengers the boy did overcome,
And the crowd was ecstatic. The old man was not.
To the young boy this silence did matter a lot.
“Where on earth is this quiet old man coming from?
Would it matter to him if I did but my worst?”

The wise man offered him two opponents who were
Elderly and disabled. “Now run with these two.”
But the boy was perplexed. The old man insisted.
The boy won, but the excitement that existed
With the crowd was no longer, except for a few.
This is not the reaction the boy would prefer.

In This Race Called Life, who is running next to you?
Are they weaker? Do you help them to cross the line?
When we all win together, that is the best race.
What the crowd cheers is giving a loving embrace
To your fellow contestants in life. You will shine
As a person. Do consider this point of view.

Be Silent!

Keep Psychically Still

Many times throughout life it’s best not to express
Verbally. There are obvious circumstances
Where silence is the answer. If you feel no one
Understands your feelings, speech is no solution.
If you have doubts about your thoughts then the chances
Of your making sense are significantly less.

Remain quiet when others are judging someone
Negatively. You will get sucked into a mess.
When someone screams and yells in anger and hatred
Being silent will calm this person. If instead
You respond with words you will accomplish much less.
Petty and useless dialog now has begun.

Try to keep quiet when someone else is sharing
Some event in their life quite emotionally.
Interrupting shows them that you really don’t care
Being silent shows them that at least you’re aware
As they are providing you their testimony.
What you think about it is not worth declaring.

A smart person solves a problem, but the wise one
Avoids it altogether. As much as you know
That you don’t know that you don’t know you become more
Than you were in the moment you were just before.
Being silent is often the best way to go.
What you don’t say cannot enter the equation.

Existence Is A Relationship

The Give-And-Take Nature Of Being

Two phases of a single process is a way
To perceive oneself and the world. Unfamiliar
And unfashionable is this thinking to some.
They have feelings of doubt that they can overcome.
Science has proven that this is the way things are.
Notions contrary to this are not here to stay.

Obsolete is the thinking that man is the head
Of nature, yet the naturalists are always
Fighting nature because they do not understand
What it means to be ‘head.’ It does not mean command.
Our racial evolution has seen some delays
Perhaps due to negative beliefs we’re force fed.

Every creature is head of nature in its turn
Because each creature creates the world in its own
Image. All existence is a relationship
Between selves and the world. We need only equip
Ourselves with understanding. Alas we are prone
To discard any common sense we may discern.

No movement of nature constitutes existence
Until it’s related to neurological
Complexes of its creatures. The Complex belongs
To the same word as the sun. We’re meant to sing songs
Of elation. Our recognizing of this shall
Pave the way for a life of wonder and suspense.

The One Who Can

The Surprising One

Can’t is the worst word that is written or spoken.
It does more harm than slander and outrageous lies.
On it, many a strong spirit may be broken.
Many good purposes die to not come again.
From the lips of the thoughtless it springs when they rise.
It robs us of our courage – both women and men.

It rings in our ears like a timely-sent warning
And will laugh as we falter and fall by the way.
Can’t is the father of all feeble endeavor
And the parent of terror and the half-assed chore.
It weakens the efforts of artisans and may
Make the most clever toiler an indolent thing.

It poisons the soul of the one with a vision
As it stifles in infancy many a plan.
It greets honest toiling with open derision
And it mocks at the hopes and the dreams of the one
With the gumption to start out by saying, “I can.”
It will put quite the kibosh on getting things done.

Can’t cannot be a word uttered without blushing.
To do so would be but a big symbol of shame.
Ambition and courage it daily is crushing.
It will blight one’s own purpose and make everything
Seem as if one does not have a stake in the game.
Hate the word with a passion. No good can it bring.

Refuse to let the word find a home in your brain.
As a creature of terror, do arm against it.
It’s the foe to ambition. It bows only to
Courage, patience, and skill. These are only a few
Of the things that defeat it. One should never quit.
Say, “I Can” to your life. You have so much to gain.

The Sieves Of Judgement

Psychic Sifters of Truth

“There is someone among us who is unworthy,”
Said a young man to the old and wise Socrates.
“A disreputable person he is clearly.
When I tell you what he is doing you will see
That our group cannot tolerate folk such as these.
I’ve told you. You can take measures necessary.”

“Before I will do anything you must tell me
If what you say is true. Did you see it first hand?
Or is it only something that you overheard?”
Socrates asked the man who had only one word

Which was ‘No.’ “Then the sieve of truth it cannot stand,”
Said the wise one. “You may have to let this one be.”

“Will you tell me of something good or positive
About this man, or are you here to tell me things
About him that are nasty? If it’s the latter
Then it is best for you to ignore the matter.
The sieve of goodness cancels out your utterings.
Go about your own business and let the man live.”

“What are you so excited about anyway?
Is it that necessary to come to tell me
Of this thing most upsetting?”
The man bowed in shame

And retracted his story which now seemed quite lame.
Before dispensing gossip will it pass freely
Through the three sieves of judgement? Take care what you say.

Manifest Anything

Personal Magic

A button, a bowel movement, or one hundred grand
Can be manifested with the same attention.
Focusing in the right way keeps one in the mood
To attract what is wanted. Nothing is pursued.
All that comes is a matter of one’s intention
To receive the wellbeing by its open hand.

Jesus went to a village outside Galilee.
He was met by ten men with a dreaded disease.
They begged Jesus, “Take pity,” and he did just that
They believed he could cure them in their habitat
At a distance and not to varying degrees.
They had faith that they would be healed quite completely.

He told them, “Go and let the priests examine you.”
On their way they were cured just as they had believed.

One returned to give thanks to Jesus and he said,
“It’s your faith that has healed you.” Indeed we are led
Past the bounds of reality. What is perceived
By the Christ within oneself shall then become true.

Strong belief and thanksgiving embody the cure
For the ills that befall us. He who shows the way
To a much better circumstance lives within all
Who have some spark of loving grace however small.
Giving up resistance is a small price to pay.
We can all perform miracles if we are pure.

Existence Is A Relationship

The Joy of Spiritual Alignment

That humans are irrelevant is a notion
That is not of good fashion and unfamiliar.
Man believes he has dominion over nature
But the acts of some humans are vile and impure.
In due time we may leave an indelible scar
On the face of the planet. We may be undone.

It’s a simple idea, but understanding
Is one bit of a challenge. Yet actually,
Every creature is head of its own universe
And all make up this world in the way we disburse
Our life owning perceptions. A certain degree
Of acceptance of this is a wonderful thing.

This world is made up of all its many creatures
And their conscious awareness of all they perceive.
It’s an act of creation just being alive
So that our interacting is enough to drive
The process of existence. A grand interweave
Is the heart of creation with many features.

Each creature creates the world in its own image.
Existence is relationship with the cosmos
Through the vast neurological complex each has.
Evolution occurs for us just as long as
Our behavior on earth becomes less bellicose.
Each of us comes to be by the will to engage.

The Game Of Good And Evil

Chronic Theatre Of War

Who knows well the term war games as if in a play?
What theater of warfare and audience hears
Only words that inflame it? Passion remains blind.
Am I real or automaton, absent of mind
Yet with reason and values. The story appears
Darkly human a pastime of moral decay.

Good and evil in balance is not a good game,
But with positive forces triumphant always,
Things would get awfully boring. A more perfect one
Is where good nearly loses, but true loss is none.
By a weird fluke of nature are honor and praise
Special traits of a species that cannot know shame.

Practical is a system where the good side wins
All the time but is never the winner, perse,
And the evil side loses always but never
Is the loser. And this could go on forever.
Successful and ongoing is war fought this way
As it keeps people distracted from all their sins.

Every group of nice people needs one of assholes.
Each becomes the director of the others acts.
As each defines the other, they know who they are.
And each means of encounter must not stray too far
From the issues pertaining to whites, browns, and blacks.
May God’s mercy descend upon our troubled souls.

The Greatest Prayer

Words Of Power

If You Believe, You’ll Receive Whatever You Ask.
In this chapter of Matthew, so much is revealed
That transcends the religious. It’s Spiritual.
It depends on the willingness to be grateful
For what is not yet manifest. All can be healed
By this method of praying, if up to the task.

It’s reflected in science. In quantum physics,
The observer effect describes how one can change
Situations, objects, and personalities
Through the thought given to them. The power we seize
With a positive outlook is nothing so strange.
Religion and science are a fortunate mix.

Blessed Are Those Who’ve Not Seen, But Yet They Believe.
This is the main ingredient of any prayer.

We receive what is given from life eternal –
The most generous giver of large things and small.
What Is Asked For Is Given. Feeling must be there.
The strength of our excitement is how we receive.

Disregard the appearance of what doesn’t match
Your picture of perfection of how things should be.
Thought Transmission creates within what is observed
The appropriate changes that are most deserved
Both observed and observer are linked completely
As thoughts turn into reality with dispatch.
