Let Go And Trust

Worried

Let’s put things into context. I’m going to be
In the workforce. I’m graduating from college
In a short while. I’m really excited about
Doing interviews. I’ve many talents to tout
Way beyond all my training and expert knowledge,
But things don’t seem to be working out easily.

For the most part, though, I enjoy where I’m at now.
Some days are better than others generally,
But the difficulty comes when I focus on
What sometimes feels like struggle. My dream has not gone
By the wayside at those times. The best part of me
Is the one that has taught all of me to allow.

If I see what’s gone wrong, I stir up the contrast
And invite idle worry about rejection,
But it also shoots off a rocket of desire
To the universe which accepts what I require
In a system that operates with perfection.
I’ll see only what I want and remain steadfast.

All I need is to get into that trusting place
And accept that I’m worthy of what I ask for.
There’s no limit to how much good can come to me.
I can have things just the way I want them to be.
I know that I’ll forever be asking for more
Of the universe’s fund of infinite grace.

Finding Your Meaning

Pursuing Your Purpose

If you died today, what talents, abilities,
Gifts, ideas, and dreams would go along with you?
Recent studies say that most people hate their jobs.
What they do for a living provides, but it robs
Them of their sense of fulfillment. What can we do
To break out of a routine that will never please?

We all came here with talents. Each one of us has
Special blessings that life gives us. It’s most worthwhile
To find out what it is that you love offering
To the wild world that needs it more than anything,
And the best of your blessings is always your smile.
You must find out what gives your life umph and pizzazz.

We’ve all stopped and reflected on what’s happening
In the world. Shocking headlines cause people to ask
Where all of it is leading. What good can you do?
Simply being in touch with your heart that is true
Is more helpful sometimes than a specific task.
What is your worth? You do have purpose and meaning.

If you know what your work is, then start doing it.
In a dead end position, how far you can go
Is established. It will erode your self-esteem.
Inner turmoil and emptiness are not your dream.
Only when you have freedom will your spirit grow.
Everyone is here for everyone’s benefit.

Why People Hurt People

Blind Desperation

Civil War is but one thing devolved into two.
When the brain’s hemispheres get along not at all
It is called epilepsy. There’s loss of control
Of the muscular functions. Oneself isn’t whole
When attacks come at random. This is nothing small.
One can’t predict at all when the next one is due.

Trauma is about not being able to feel
All the pain that it causes. The soul is made numb.
Being so cut off from one’s own humanity,
Desperate are behaviors that all others see
As a problem to intricate to overcome.
Every new dawn is swallowed in hopeless ordeal.

Self-destructive behaviors are frustrated by
Self-preservative programming. Clearly at odds,
One must sort through the numbness and draw from the pain
Something that feels like hatred for relative gain.
What society offers completely defrauds
Some of us as truth warriors willing to die.

What has died is the hope for an old way of life
When we were manufacturers with steady jobs.
Drug and alcohol crises and suicide rates
Climbing higher each year is the fate that awaits
Those of us who feel cornered. The menacing mobs
Will not cease their aggression until there’s no strife.

Happy With What I Do?

The Vocation of Being

The Workforce with its power is just not enough
To blow past the established wealth of the elite.
It would take innovation that most can’t afford,
So they work jobs that may pay well but leave them bored
To the depths of their souls. This kind of self-defeat
Ruthlessly sucks the life force. Despair cannot bluff.

There are two types of people. One are of a kind
Who feel safe in stability. Conservative,
They prefer stable income and steady workflow.
They are unlike the others whose passion to go
After what they love doing makes them creative
In their ways of risk management and peace of mind.

Judgement is not appropriate to cast upon
Those who find satisfaction in their comfort zone.
Circumstances dictate choices that can be made.
One can be happy in them or maybe afraid
That endured discontent the health cannot condone.
One may fret in seclusion and become withdrawn.

Some must go for the passion in all that they do.
Wasted energy on work that doesn’t feel good
Becomes dense and sclerotic. To be more alive
Is to trust in one’s true worth. The need to survive
Is by infinite intelligence understood.
When it’s time to move on, always there’s something new.

Educated Delusion

Degredation Of Sheepskin

Socioeconomic conditions prevail
That are nowhere near perfect. The rich and the poor
Have a chasm between them a galaxy wide.
The world’s uneducated are lacking in pride.
If one has not a sheepskin then closed is the door
To a life of fulfillment. This is a sad tale.

Need it be this way always as always it’s been?
Social class structures are part of human nature.
We cannot get around that, although it’s been tried,
But with failure and bloodshed. The growing divide
Among people in this way does not have a cure
Short of total collapse and then starting again.

Working class pawns are uniformed in suit and tie.
The neck must be encircled to show ownership
Of one’s time and behavior for indentured pay.
Do I like doing what I must do everyday
To maintain my existence? I’ll button my lip
To avoid condescension and stick with a lie.

Educational systems are pawn factories.
In assembly line fashion, workers are produced.
When curricula match students’ abilities
And their natural aptitudes, then with much ease
They’ll absorb like sponges and boredom is reduced.
Educated Delusion is not expertise.
