Grow Through It

Troubling Situation

We all go through things that are uncomfortable.
There’s that troubling coworker who gets on your nerves.
There’s a dream that has taken longer than you thought
To come true. Generally, it feels like you’re caught
In a trap of frustration. No person deserves
Such a thing, but it seems it’s not preventable.

You can’t pray away everything that bothers you.
God uses inconveniences, difficulties,
And delays to see if you choose to Grow Through It
Rather than getting bitter. If you can submit
To the test you’ve been given, then you will with ease
Get the insight and strength needed to follow through.

Our faith is tested in the fire of affliction.
We don’t grow so much in the good times. We grow in
Difficult situations. It’s not a mistake
When someone does you wrong or you get a bad break.
If you choose not to hold a grudge, you will begin
To live life with a little less contradiction.

Grow Through It! Go the extra mile. Take the high road
And forgive. This is how to use God’s loving grace.
Build your spiritual muscles. Don’t get upset
Over struggles that haven’t even happened yet.
Do not be afraid to look challenge in the face.
Grace comes to you when you’re in the receptive mode.

Absolute Freedom

Open Air Bliss

On your right path you can never be other than,
But there is the human tendency to try to
Find an answer in someone else. Your clarity
Comes from your inner being. You are meant to be
Independently and consciously sifting through
Life’s contrast. You are doing what no one else can.

You are born with the innate knowledge that it should
Be a pleasure to be alive. Every moment
Is a growing experience, but after time
You forget due to others who commit the crime
Of informing you of their extreme discontent.
If you speak about joy, you are misunderstood.

You become more comparative. Your interest
Is in how you appear to other folks instead
Of how it feels to you. Your intentions erode.
The momentum toward your desires is slowed.
You’ve no enthusiasm for what lies ahead.
Nothing more than what is now do you manifest.

With a basic triad of intentions you came.
Freedom, growth, and joy they are, and your expansion
Is inevitable. Look within for balance.
You can feel happiness in any circumstance.
You cannot get it wrong because it’s never done.
The freedom of your childhood you now can reclaim.

Triggered

Natural Response

Something crawls into consciousness out of nowhere.
Does it have any business there? I cannot know
Until it has become me. By then it’s too late.
If it’s toxic it will put me into a state
Of anxiety. If I let its presence grow,
It may lead to distress and to utter despair.

More strongly as I feel it, and time elapses,
After having been overcome with emotion,
I then realize that this has happened again.
I know by past experience what happens when
I stay there. Negative momentum is begun.
My belief in my own wellbeing collapses.

The duration had been short. In pain I’d act out
With the mind disagreeing with the emotion.
Rational thought is futile when I am this way.
Sometimes I would stay triggered for more than a day.
In this way, it is hard to accept the notion
That I could feel much better. I’m fettered in doubt.

Processing the emotions associated
With the trauma is needed. I can overcome
Much of it by exploring it all fearlessly.
Through guidance and acceptance I have come to be
In a much better way and a lot freer from
My past trauma. A new life has been created.

Believe In Yourself

Never Give Up

Find something that you love to do. Make it something
That you do every day. Be completely obsessed
With this thing that you do. What you do from your heart
Brings you pleasure and makes of your life a fine art.
Use your imagination, and give life your best.
Someone will find the work you do interesting.

Set small goals, then achieve them. Get ready for more
Things you want to accomplish. Put pen to paper,
And declare your intentions. You find your freedom
In choosing whatever. As it gains momentum
You become a better reality shaper.
This will make you much more confident than before.

Grow a deep belief in yourself. Play the long game.
You don’t have to be the chosen one. Build resolve
In your spirit in order to reach the plateaus.
When it feels like your spirit is in the shadows
Keep on going. It’s how your spirit will evolve.
Be persistent and constantly adjust your aim.

As children, we’re told this word’s the way it must be,
And our lives are inside it. We try not to bash
Into walls too much and to remain satisfied
With the status quo. We also get to decide
How much of it worthy and how much is trash.
It may take decades for us to finally see.

Man Versus Nature

Human Incongruence

We’re like monkeys with typewriters. This is year nine
Of one point three more million. The Britannica
We are right in the middle of writing, and we
Are accustomed to living unnaturally.
We are caught in a self-created dilemma.
As a fluke, we are of a peculiar design.

As soon as we stop what we’re doing we’ll relapse
Into nonsense. We would have to start all over
From day one of year one. We are in constant fear
Of it ending abruptly. We’ve made a career
Of our diligent keystroking, as we prefer
To remain odd and able… and worthy perhaps.

We like our way of life. We like being human.
If we want to stay this way we must fight nature.
We must impose our will upon this world so wild.
Manliness is aggression. One is aptly styled
With a mask for the doubt. The tough one must ensure
That control over nature is the only plan.

We need not conquer space. We are there already.
With the aid of technology we are as far
As we’ll ever get. The rocket and bulldozer
Are big symbols of culture. Be the proposer
Of a gentler vibration. After all we are
But a byproduct of nature ultimately.

Man Versus Nature

The Prevailing Racial Ego

As the apple tree apples, God’s green earth peoples
Yet the tree is of may fruits. Man is but one.
And we’re flukes of the cosmos. A thousand monkeys
With a thousand typewriters with relative ease
After millions of years will be completely done
With the encyclopedia minus steeples.

They revert back to nonsense the moment they stop
All the waste paper buildup and slaughter of trees.
Man is just like those monkeys – a trick of nature.
We’re afraid to stop ‘typing’ for we may endure
The same fate as the monkeys, so like a disease,
And unlike those dear primates, we think we’re on top.

So, we fight like the dickens with from whence we came
To prove that we’re superior kids on the block.
Who has made this a war game – Man Versus Nature?
Never mind a damned answer. There must be a cure
For man’s constant aggression on this rugged rock.
There is nothing that man has the sole right to claim.

The male ego needs something – not total bashing.
Perhaps when that’s found out things may greatly improve.
Holding our breath while typing is not practical.
The word ‘conquest’ is locked into our rationale.
Nature always comes up with its best countermove.
How long can we put up with eternal clashing?

I Am

Unlike Any Other

Welcome magic and wonder, true brilliance, and grace.
Welcome joy, satisfaction, all pleasure, and strength.
May the essence of beauty and presence of form
Be the way of existence and surely the norm.
Excellence be the blessing throughout the wavelength
Of the spectrum of Being in this time and space.

What I seek I have already. What I must know,
I can understand. All I wish I could, I can.
Who I want to be, I am. What I seek, I own.
I comply with the knowing that I’m not alone
And have never be so since before life began.
I accept love and give all that I have also.

I am seed. I am tree; the flower and the bee.
Fire and wind I am both. I am mother and child.
I am mighty and loud, yet I silently tread
Lightly upon this earth. The goodwill that is spread
Is of nature. I am reason, and I am wild.
I’m the buyer and seller who oft’ disagree.

I am ease and great power; the bridge and tower.
I am sand and the beach. I am student; I teach.
Modest and monumental, I’m brave yet gentle.
I’m all that exists and I’m coincidental.
I am many and few; I am every and each
Of God’s essence within you as life does occur.

Seven Ages Of Consciousness

Seven Stages of Humanity's Growth

Seven cycles of twelve years – a normal lifespan
Corresponding to Jupiter’s solar orbit –
Are the Ages of Consciousness of humankind.
The gas giant’s influence on how we’re designed
Has to do with expansion of human spirit
Through each phase of development. Whose is this plan?

Not that it matters muchly that living takes place
Within provident cycles. The world is a stage.
The first act played upon it is of innocence
And conforming to standards. From this stage is whence
We advance to the ego. With fear we engage
The illusion of crisis in love or disgrace.

Powerful is the next act. Material gain
Through obtaining of assets the young lover sees
As righteously courageous for the family.
One consumes the adventure most voraciously
With community service and actions that please
Everyone in one’s circle through sunshine and rain.

Amplified in our giving, the soldier instinct
Comes acute with the passion of security.
Ego has become socialized and made a tool
For the next stage of judgement and sharp ridicule
Of the system’s mis-workings. The need to be free
Of the full-bodied duty will soon be distinct.

Wisdom is that of old age. The heart of the sage
In weak health with thin body and loose fitting clothes
Has become again childlike, recalling the days
When one had much more relevance and garnered praise.
Helplessly, losing all touch, the consciousness goes
Long before the remainder is swept off the stage.

Wisdom Of Youth

All The Young Sages...

We adults think we know everything to be known
And that only from us should our children be taught.
We take not this approach with our vegetables.
They don’t need any training. Nature enables
Youthful living creatures to receive what is sought.
We can learn things from children if not ego prone.

Wisdom doesn’t come from us and then trickle down
To the newest arrivals. It’s drawn from below.
As it makes its way upward through society,
What is no longer working can be completely
Overhauled or discarded. The seed we do sow
Knows of its royal essence while reaching the crown.

Our young collect pebbles, colored shiny objects,
And all sorts of things trivial to you and me.
But they are the most precious things to a young one.
They know not how to play our game. It isn’t fun
Because it’s one of power which they don’t yet see
As worthwhile and of value in certain aspects.

And we must educate them and teach them values
So that they learn the real game to play it to win.
But the game, when it’s mastered, brings on but the truth
That they had while of innocence back in their youth.
Feeling no satisfaction they suffer chagrin
Having fallen for learning the best ways to lose.

Older folk have their purpose. It’s to become wise
In the ways of experience. We learn to teach.
There’s no way to the kingdom of heaven unless
We become like children. If we can acquiesce
To the wisdom of freshness in time, we may reach
A sublime evolution as brilliant youth rise.

Changing Conditioned Behavior

The Dance of Thought and Emotion

Momentum and inertia are always at play.
Streams of energy sluggish flow with those of speed
Deep within and throughout me. Why can’t I let go
Of behaviors unwanted so that I can grow?
Gravity of life cripples my will to succeed.
Is an answer forthcoming? Please show me the way.

My own habits deep seated over many years
Coalesce into patterns that build the ego.
So to change them quickly is not easy to do.
I need proper guidance so that I may get through
The resistance I’ve crafted. What I need to know
Doesn’t move me sufficiently due to my fears.

The content caterpillar resistant to change
Wants to stay firmly earthbound, but nature rebels.
The destruction of old ways must be absolute
So the tree of becoming can bear fresher fruit.
When a true crisis happens, it truly compels
Abrupt emergent action. Why isn’t this strange?

The ego fears its own death and wants to hang on.
Knowing not that it cannot completely dissolve,
It may generate panic and drama to stay
In a bad situation deluged in dismay.
Not by force but by wisdom I then shall evolve
Though antics of the ego will never be gone.

Taking The First Step

Greater Awarness of Balance Issues

Feeling wildly affectionate, I find my way
On the path to more pleasure directly ahead.
With my fun loving nature, my take on most things
Is about how much happiness and good it brings.
People like what I’m doing. They’re interested
In each step of my journey. I’m not led astray.

Starting fresh from a clean slate, no harm do I see
In this wide world around me. I need not beware
Of the negative forces that I sense exist.
I get ample immunity when I am kissed.
I’m responsive to others in how much they care
Greatly for my wellbeing. My life is carefree.

My work is staying balanced and following through
In the forward direction. Sometimes I may fall
Then get up and start over. No one takes offense.
Since there is no destruction, there is no expense
For the knowing that I cannot forever crawl.
Looking down, I have learned, is the wrong thing to do.

I meet my obligations with ease. I have none
But to continue being all that I can be.
The first step I have taken. The love that I find
Is immensely supportive, refreshing, and kind.
It allows me to walk with the firm guarantee
That a life fascinating has truly begun.

Mother Earth goes through changes… we humans as well.
She plays chess on her surface, and we are her pawns
As well as other pieces, like knights, rooks and kings.
As she wins, we recover and take care of things.
It would be without purpose to weigh pros and cons.
We are at the earth’s mercy and under her spell.

So, whatever we give to her, she will give back
In a way most appropriate. We can assist
Her in making things better through technology
And through globalized vision in democracy.
By the same token, we can do much to resist
Providential engagement and focus on lack.

Earth and life are both miracles. We are offspring
Of the strong worldly signal between the earth’s poles.
We can vibrate well with her or knock ourselves out
Of alignment with nature and live in much doubt
That this place is a paradise meant for our souls.
Earth will do well despite us as we do our thing.
