Being Alone

Joy In Solitude

It’s as if I’ve become famous. Time I must share
With a whole world of others leaves never enough
To where I do my own thing. I love privacy.
Only in such a state can I truly be me.
When I don’t make escape time, I make of life tough.
I consider aloneness holier than prayer.

The phone rings too damned often. Too much I’m on stage
And performing the best version of me I can
But the real me and that me – I get them confused.
Natural instinct dictates that I be excused
From the things never meant to be part of my plan.
Sometimes I avoid others rather than engage.

Often I’ll pull the shades down. While quiet in bed
For a few unmarked hours, I’ll get something back
That I lost in the process of playing a role
That seems much too well fitting. Is that my true goal?
Nothing but good emerges from my keeping track
Of the self that I rather unconsciously shed.

I can get back the juices just being away
From the presence of others. The best remedy
For a cluttered existence is to be alone
For a while, at least. Then you’re truly on your own
And responsible for who your best self should be,
And such graceful fulfillment you cannot betray.

Life Is Not A Straight Line

Contingent And Natural Asymetry

Your success is the product of many failures.
You may earn a trophy for participation
But not so in the business of getting ahead.
Everyone does something to keep family fed.
How we do it depends on our preparation
Yet the life path is fettered with many detours.

Our society doesn’t prepare us for what’s
Really needed to be successful in business.
Most of us incur losses and disappointment.
There is no business model designed to prevent
All the pitfalls contingent to final success.
Persevering through difficult times does take guts.

Life Is Not A Straight Line. It can have twists and turns.
In nature, lines of straightness one will rarely find.
The way things grow in reality is more so
Like a circular motion as upward they go.
It’s a roundabout pattern wherein we’re resigned
To uncertain conditions where the spirit learns.

Up and down go the stock markets. Painted ponies
On the fast carousel of the world casino
Are controlled by their riders and popular whim.
It remains your decision to sink or to swim.
You can discipline your disappointment, you know,
Then your path convoluted is taken with ease.

If Tomorrow Starts Without Me

Welcoming Death

Tomorrow starts without me. Someday it shall be.
Should the sun rise and find your eyes dampened with tears,
Please don’t cry while you’re thinking of those things unsaid.
I know how much you care for me. Tears that are shed
Speak for you and me also, and I have no fears
For a place has been readied in heaven for me.

If it should start with out me, know that what’s occurred
Is that my name was called. Then, taken by the hand,
I was told I must leave earth and all that I love
And ascend to the kingdom of heaven above.
I cannot argue with what the Big One has planned.
As I looked back, a tear fell, and your voice was heard.

It seems almost impossible I’m without you
And can’t hug you goodbye. How I want you to smile.
Emptiness, memories, and sorrows I’ve become.
When I think of the things of the world I grow numb
At the thought of your sorrow. Yet after a while,
I rejoice in the new work I’m given to do.

And when I walked through heaven’s gates I felt at home.
God looked down upon me from a huge golden throne
And said, “This is eternity. All that I said
Will be yours is now yours. You have nothing to dread.”
I’m now ready to give up the earth life I’d known.

In the realm of eternity is where I roam.

A Magical Exercise

The Ultimate Mind Game

Women Are Fundamental. This statement of fact
With no more said makes strong men grow week in the knees.
What it means is complete loss of means of control.
Not a man on earth conquers the feminine soul.
Women rely on Magic to treat the disease
That flares up and is chronic with lethal impact.

One by one, states like Texas will try to secede
From the union of women – their freedom to be
In command of their bodies and female power.
In the long run, support for pro-choice will devour
Any chance that established law can completely
Be thrown out by old white men caught up in their greed.

Nebulizing an outcome less fettered and flawed
Can be done by believing that all things are well
With ourselves, how we live, and with the universe,
But, the weak human spirit exalts the perverse.
Exercising our Magic from the depths of hell,
We can change it. The way is brought to us by God.

What it takes is Emotion. Our Feeling what’s right
And that it is completed already is all
That is needed. Write down exactly how you feel.
Hypnotic visualization is most real,
And because it is Magic, no one’s part is small.
Our success depends on what we bring to the fight.

A Check-In With Spirit

Journal

If I write on blank pages with fullness of heart
And well-focused, is its worth far greater than if
My mind also is void of just how to express
How I’m doing in my pursuit of happiness?
When comes time that I tame the feral verbal riff
Spirit then will take over me as I take part.

To sit down and start writing is not a big deal.
Some folks struggle with writer’s block. I am immune.
I’m equipped with a motor-mind shy of a voice
Loud enough that folks hear me. Is it not my choice
To be part of the episode we all attune?
And is it worth recording the things that I feel?

Go ahead and just do it! If I should hold back
Then there’s something undone, and my spirit will yearn
For some kind of expression of what it goes through.
Every moment I’m writing yields me a new view
Of my life with more clarity and less concern.
It’s the best way I know to keep my life on track.
