When Life Breaks You

Desolation

No matter how good you are sometimes you will be
In a tough situation where all that you know
Doesn’t help you. The unexpected will occur
Then a chain reaction of things you would prefer
Not to happen will happen so deep in sorrow
You remain. You are damaged spiritually.

It could be that your business is falling apart
Or that your bank account is screaming that you’re broke.
It can break you mentally and physically
And it will leave its mark on you indelibly.
At this point you have but your own will to evoke
Because this thing you trusted has broken your heart.

Challenges lead to victory or to defeat.
Staying with the breaking produces the blessing.
It’s not what you go through that determines where you
Will end up. It’s the people who you listen to.
All the negative thought forms that they’re expressing
Does with you sense of worthiness harshly compete.

It’s your struggle. Stay with it. No one else needs to
Know about what you’re going through. Nurture your pain
With the knowing that this time of uncertainty
Will resolve itself fully eventually.
Only you have the wherewithal to break the chain
Of despair. Do not let it get the best of you.

Create The Life That You Want

Enjoyment Of Life

Since my last birthday, people have been telling me
That it’s too late for me now – that my time has passed.
I don’t want to believe that. It doesn’t feel right.
No one can tell me that my future can’t be bright.
I’ve the freedom to do what I want at long last.
I can make my life the way I want it to be.

It may be ‘too late’ for those who say that it’s so
Because if you desire something but it’s ‘too late,’
It will never show up. There’s contradictory
Energy operating within the psyche.
It will affect your ability to create
What you want in your life. It’s a good thing to know.

I really want it, and it is well on its way.
That’s a healthier way of stating my intent
To be open to all that life has to offer
And to not let the judgements of others deter
Me from my path. I must exercise discernment
In my interactions with others through the day.

If I try to explain things, people may not be
On the same page as I am. I’ll just understand
And not try to re-litigate or to defend
My thinking to others who cannot comprehend.
It’s not my duty to lead others by the hand.
I’m free to look at life optimistically.

Win Life’s Battles?

The War Of Life

The Supreme Art Of War is a serious one
Among humans. With it we are preoccupied.
Our survival depends on the study of war
Otherwise there is nothing it can be good for.
Our behavior somehow gives us some sense of pride,
And in warfare there is only one solution.

Know thyself. Know thy enemy. Move not unless
There’s a healthy advantage. Amid the chaos
There is also opportunity to deceive.
When you’re strong you must make the enemy believe
That you’re weak, and if you can get that point across,
Then they are overcome with substantial success.

Don’t repeat the same tactics which have gained you one
Victory. Let your methods be regulated
By the infinite variety of chances
To improve on your most current circumstances.
Keep your mind and your keen senses activated.
When at war there’s no automatic solution.

Let your plans be as dark and impenetrable
As the night. Like a lightning flash move and attack.
One may know how to conquer but without being
Able to do it. Is there a way of freeing
Human nature from itself? The virtue we lack
Does little to keep the earth balanced and stable.
