The Women

Those Without Voice

No one else is there visible. Only mad men
Can be seen on the media and network news
Spouting off at the mouth or the weapon in hand.
Is it best that an ignorant world understand
What The Women must go through? It is they who lose
Having been nonexistent since heaven knows when.

Men who pass gas in public where there’s no escape
From their foul perverse intent are of the mindset
That their grossness is power that gives them control
Of most people’s attention. Their psychotic goal
Is to prove to all others that they are a threat.
Sense of smell is the wholesomeness they care to rape.

It’s a crusty old bastard nation in the eyes
Of the world cast upon them. Their arrogant ways,
Centuries in the making, have stale stunk the air.
Women had been breathing some real oxygen there,
And it’s not tolerated. Abusive mores
Among state and religion have integral ties.

It will take generations. New waves of women
With support of those worldwide pries open the door.
Once fresh air has been breathed, there is no turning back
To the ways of abuse and of constant attack.
Once one has tasted freedom, there’s wanting for more.
Women don’t want to breathe fecal air once again.

Invictus

The Invincible One

The dark night of the soul of all humanity
Blankets me in a blackness, the darkest I’ve known
Since the virus of racism caught humankind
In the hell made a battlefield of the sick mind.
Nonetheless I am thankful that I’m not alone.
By divinity power is given to me.

I remember past challenges. I was constrained
Yet I showed no discomfort nor did I complain.
Beaten brutally by unyielding circumstance,
I am given much more than a black snowball’s chance
To rise up like the phoenix with heaven to gain.
Looking on toward the future, my pride is maintained.

Though the challenge seem futile as death changes ways
It can have its way with us, sincere is my hope
That the same God who strengthens me will help me do
Everything in our powers to rightly subdue
The dark shadow that threatens all. On the tightrope
In a serious circus, I want for no praise.

Matters not does it how dark night gets before dawn.
Fully am I prepared, for robust is my will
Through incurred purgatories. I am the master
Of my fate and the captain (as I’d most prefer
It be always) of my soul and its expert skill.
United we combat illness until it’s gone.

Overcoming Suffering

Mostly a Matter of Mind

Constant shots of I Love You direct to the head
Where the heart is an image that needs special care
In resolving the problems the mind recreates
Is one kind of addiction among human fates.
Suffering is the byproduct all creatures bear
From birth into existence until they are dead.

A huge bit of my suffering is of the mind,
As it is with most people. Alone it can make
A big deal of a small thing, then all will go wrong.
If my positive thinking were stunningly strong,
It may cause enough shifting that I may awake
To the knowing that obstacles are rather kind.

Other problems of living I cannot control,
As they come from the outside, or seemingly so.
People dying and illness are common to all.
We encounter the big things as well as the small.
It is necessary for all creatures to grow
Through the difficult challenges to make them whole.

Thinking can’t offer freedom from having to face
Obstacles on my cherished path, Do I create
Every damned thing that happens? It’s irrelevant!
I can accept that I create just the moment
With detachment from judgment in absence of weight.
Optional is most suffering that I embrace.
