Let Go Of Expectations

Life In Hands

The sun rising each morning, the next breath of air,
And your life getting better with each coming day
Are examples of things you expect to take place.
You believe you’re entitled to provident grace.
You expect things to turn out pretty much your way.
The vibration of wellbeing is everywhere.

You’re expected to have expectations about
Your children because our culture says that we must.
If your child doesn’t meet them then what do you do?
If you panic the worst of your dreams may come true.
Ultimately, you have to let go and to trust
In your child’s decision. You must let go of doubt.

For oneself it’s okay to have expectations
But to have them of others one must be aware
Of the potential of doing harm to someone
Out of your loving kindness. What you may have done
Is abusive. The person may not even care
For your help and it makes for bitter relations.

Let the door stay wide open but do not assume
That someone wants what you want. Be absolutely
Positive in your manner. They may not want to
Take the path that you’ve showed them. Don’t let that make you
A big failure. Just take a deep breath and be free
Of the issue and allow your live to resume.

Soul To Soul

Face To Face

What’s the soul? It’s that part of you that existed
Before you were born and that will exist after
You have died. It’s the highest most noble part of
Yourself that you can reach for. It is of pure love.
The almighty is known as the master crafter
Of all souls and it is all done unassisted.

Unlike things in this earth school the soul has no weight
Or volume. These are characteristics of this
Dimension of time, space, matter, duality,
And amnesia. The nature of reality
Is something that the physical body will miss
Unless it can be in a meditative state.

All souls have the capacity to be great souls
And our job while we’re here on earth is to align
Our personalities with our souls. We do that
By intention. It’s worth taking a good look at
That part of ourselves which is in essence divine.
We can all make it one of our primary goals.

Many levels upon levels upon levels
Of compassion and wisdom beyond our knowing
Has the universe which is sacred and holy.
Reverence for life, loving, sharing, harmony,
And cooperation are all overflowing
In the one who in every circumstance revels.

What Does It Say About Us?

Young Victim

There are one hundred thousand homeless children in
The United States. Children in this country go
Everyday to schools that don’t have enough supplies
To teach them to read, and it comes as no surprise
That if children don’t read by eight then they won’t grow
Properly. At the game of life they will not win.

Chances of high school graduation are decreased
As the chances of incarceration increase.
What Does This Say About Us? We seem more concerned
With our own childhood traumas. Our children are spurned
By this selfish behavior. How can we find peace
In our hearts? We don’t care about them in the least.

Millions of American children go to school
Everyday asking teachers, “Do you have any
Food for me?”
We have children on suicide watch

In our schools. It appears that we’ve dropped down a notch
…Or a billion. Wake up to the reality
Of what’s happening to children that isn’t cool.

Traumatized before preschool, some children live in
What’s called ‘domestic war zones’ where PTSD
Is a serious issue because violence
They experienced. They had no means of defense.
What does it take to get many people to see
What work needs to be done and just how to begin?

Advanced Placement Afterlife

Impressions of Life and Afterlife

The ‘Accelerated’ they were called way back when.
I was but a mere idiot due to my grades.
I was coerced to worship them. Damn them today
And the teachers who fucked with my mind in that way!
From the callously perverse school system cascades
Condescension toward those ‘less than’ time and again.

Something happened to me my last year of high school.
It’s a loose-fitting fragment that moves while in place
As a traumatic episode. Mister Feeney
Chose to instruct the whole class to make fun of me.
My life changed in an instant. I left in disgrace
Both from school and from home to escape ridicule.

Sometimes I can’t remember that. Others, I do.
When it happens, contempt for all pumps through my veins.
I did manage to graduate with no time lost
But not from that same Catholic school. I had crossed
Their red line of defiance. The nightmare remains
One of psychic incontinence. It’s sad but true.

During my brief hiatus, my sick teenaged mind
Felt enough guilt that it thought that it could assume
Quite another identity… go back to school.
Since I had advanced knowledge, I’d have to be cool.
Thanks to God and the angels, I was plucked from doom.
But I must prove I’m not stupid to humankind.

This is not about pity. It’s coming to light
Of the full realization that I am of worth
To myself and the whole world, as all people are.
I persist in the myth of the mind superstar,
Using it as a weapon, also to unearth
What my soul needs to express. It seems only right.

So, how bad a residual can this become?
I’m hellbent on displaying this cursed intellect
In its absolute brilliance. Do others seem bright?
Most would pale in comparison next to my light.
On your grave, Mister Feeney, I’ll give due respect.
I shall defecate gleefully, you rotten scum!

If you know me, do not make the stupid mistake
Of thinking that I’m stupid. I’ll Lay You To Waste!
Just because it’s been twisted, my mind can do harm.
It also Commands English with masterful charm.
Don’t you dare look down on me, or you will be faced
With the wrath of an intellect none can forsake.

The School System

TheMagicRealist.com

All God’s children need schooling. We’ve made it the law.
Education provides an opportunity
To bump up against people of various views,
And to find one’s own balance among favored clues.
It’s a functioning system, though arguably.
And for most, there are many conclusions to draw.

Parent, student and child can be on the same page.
It’s a matter of knowing we are all in school.
We each teach one another alignment or not
With the Source of wellbeing we may have forgot.
This, the most trusted lesson, can be the best tool
For maintaining one’s balance upon the life stage.

She may say, “Mom, I’m out of here; I’ve had enough!”
As she rampages on in her righteous disgust.
Just remind her it’s OK to quit school and go,
But wherever she goes, her contempt is in tow.
When lessons become meaningless, it’s best to trust
In one’s Source’s curriculum and better stuff.
