Emotional Healing

Colorful Mind

What happens when we start asking the question when
We’re with someone, “What’s it like to be this person?”
Children rarely will do this. Their stories are all
About themselves because their worlds are rather small
As they should be. If they thought that it would be fun
They would probably do it again and again.

Divisions among people are made sorely clear.
Growing pains are the conscience of humanity.
Somewhere locked in our DNA so it would seem
Is the tendency to take things to the extreme.
Perhaps people think that they are more than worthy
Of supremacy yet we still grapple with fear.

When we pause and just ask the questions we begin
To release some resistance. “What’s it like to be
This person? What does this person need? Who are they
Deep inside? Who is looking through those eyes?”
You may

Gain some insight you can depend on completely.
There’s no harm in doing so and it’s not a sin.

We live with separations and don’t understand
One another and it’s getting worse by the day.
We don’t understand what the experience of
Difference is. It keeps us from learning to love
One another. Diversity won’t go away.
To ask the question is both radical and grand.

Humility

Expression Of Faith

True humility is a nonjudgmental state
Free from pride, arrogance, vanity, and the need
To be right. Dictionaries define it as low
Self-regard and unworthiness, yet one should know
That form self-deprecation a person is freed
By humility. It’s a most virtuous trait.

Recognition of the limits of the ego
Thinking mind and its inability to know
And to truly experience reality
Will lead one to a genuine humility.
It’s needed in order for the spirit to grow
In the light of acceptance and of letting go.

Through humility and the ever-present choice
Of peace out of love, one can relinquish even
The most cherished of negatives such as hatred,
Spitefulness, and revenge, and replace them instead
With the peace of compassion. One can enter then
A place where one is hearing their own still small voice.

It’s one of the foundations of devotional
Spiritual life. It’s of open mindedness
To the current opportunity to advance
And to know that we all share the same circumstance.
One’s humility is spiritual progress.
One can find it to be something that’s natural.

The Healers

Caretakers Of Humanity

Recognizing The Healers among us for me
Is an easy thing simply because I am one.
Most descriptions of INFP’s, as we’re called,
Say that all that can keep us forever enthralled
Are the things of the spirit. Indeed we have fun
While exploring the human soul… usually.

Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, (one more)
And Perceiving – these four words are the acronym
For we INFP types. Does this make me proud?
Quite in spite of my ego, to life I’m avowed.
Darkness like the horrendous scourge of racism
Is but fuel for enlightenment. It’s not a bore.

We love speaking in parables and metaphors.
Inventing fresh new symbols to share our ideals,
We are at our creative best. Keen rhetoric
Fascinates us to no end, and our minds are quick.
The slow speed of mere lightning is not that which heals.
Infinite is the frequency spirit endures.

We become overwhelmed often, and we do err
Because we are as human as all humankind.
Altruistic are we, and we’re misunderstood.
One’s perfected morality is for the good
Of the soul of the planet. The task we’re assigned
Is to process experiences and to share.
