Carefree Koala

Can it be looked at from a broader perspective
All the differences between animals and
Human beings? Did we create them? Or did they
Create themselves? Is it really helpful to play
With such questions? Is it that hard to understand
The big picture? Are we all one huge collective?

We’re the creators of our own reality.
We add to what is happening on planet earth.
Our attention right here and now is causing the
Evolution not only of humanity
But of all of existence. All life is of worth
To the universe and that’s the way it must be.

Consciousness has been always the evolution
Of all things. There’s a blending of the physical
With the nonphysical. Intricately combined
Are the energies, so it would be hard to find
A perceived of ‘creator.’ The spiritual
Offers to many humans the best solution.

Animals are more open to being who they
Truly are in each moment, whereas humans lie
In a heartbeat. Why is that? The answer may be
Unimportant. We are all the same energy
But with different packages. The reason why
Is because there are certain laws all must obey.

Aesthetics of the Eternal

Go the whole way in theory to see how you feel
At the prospect of your achievements vanishing.
All your dreams and hard efforts have turned into dust.
How does such a thing strike you? Could you learn to trust
A condition of nothingness? What’s the feeling?
Perhaps thinking about it holds not much appeal.

For some reason or other people are supposed
To find this notion morbid and too depressing
For any mind to deal with. There’s no need to fear.
Nothingness is a blessing. When this is made clear
Then there’s nothing to fret about – not a damned thing!
Many things become transparent and well disclosed.

What if the most real state is that of nothingness
And it was the fundamental reality?
It could not be contaminated by a thing,
Negative are the feelings that too often bring
Misery to your nothingness. It’s best to see
That all that there is comes from nothing through process.

Deepest space contains nothing. The whole universe
Is engulfed in a vastness that cannot be known.
Everything comes from nothing – the good and the bad…
The ugly and pathetic who make people sad.
If you feel you are stranded here you’re not alone.
Consciousness is a dream infinitely diverse.

Dirty Double Dog Stare

Benign Absurdity

May we be made aware of the Double Dog Stare
Most specifically, the discrete dirty ones?
Truthfully, dogs don’t give them. They get them from us.
When they behave more like us, we make such a fuss.
They have become, for many, our daughters and sons
And when they misbehave, we still give them our care.

I cannot take for granted what’s in a dog’s face
Because it leads directly to that creature’s heart.
The connection exists between mind and the soul.
Each can know of the other to make knowing whole.
They are friends with much love and wisdom to impart
To the whole of humanity as a sick race.

We have keen double vision in how we believe
Our realities mingle. This is how we are.
Is it used for survival within our complex
Constructions of necessity? Nature objects
Such a notion of grandeur as much too bizarre.
Other species can learn from us how to deceive.
